While there is no requirement in Peru to receive vaccinations before entering the country, we recommend you review the list of vaccinations and medications you may need before your trip. Ideally, it is recommended that you consult with your doctor weeks before your trip. Vaccinations are generally recommended for short-term tourist coverage against hepatitis A, typhoid fever, and tetanus, which are essential to protect against potentially infectious severe diseases during your trip. In addition, it is vital to take extra precautions such as frequent hand washing, avoiding contaminated food or water, and even using insect repellent to prevent possible transmission of pathogenic microorganisms.

Traveling to the Inca Trail region is an exciting experience, but it also carries certain risks. One of the biggest problems travelers face is the risk of insect bites. Mosquitoes and phlebotomine sandfly bites can be particularly annoying and even dangerous for some people, so it is vital to take preventive measures to avoid them.
Along the Inca Trail, it is advisable to wear long-sleeved, light-colored clothing to help deter insects. It is also advisable to apply an excellent repellent to vulnerable areas such as the neck and wrists, and this will be especially important for the visit to Machu Picchu.

We are delighted to have families join us on our hikes; this means that those under age will have the opportunity to explore the world with adults.
Our minimum age requirement for children is one year old when the tour begins. Parents or legal guardians are 100% responsible for the care and supervision of the children during the entire voyage.
It is important to consider that children must have full medical insurance to travel with us. On the other hand, those over 18 years of age do not need to have a legal guardian, as this age has been established as the limit for unsupervised travel.
Also, we remind again that the equipment must be appropriate to the size of the child, whether clothing or accessories (for example, hats, scarves, hats, or baby carrier). We want to ensure safety and comfort for both adults and children throughout the tour.

Appreciating the services of our staff in any of our treks with tips is a custom in the tourist space nowadays; however, we leave here a reference in terms of average amounts according to the function of each service member:
